The 15 Most Instagrammable Places in Paris

Paris! The city of lights and the city of love, with its charming streets, romantic corners and dazzling monuments is basically the most photographed city worldwide. Every building has a story, every arrondissment has a different feel and every second we spend there feels surreal. Even with chaos, rain or shine this stunning city never fails to impress.

For me, it brings back a nostalgia from when I lived there and a new-found appreciation every time I go back. It's crazy to think growing up I always dreamed of discovering this gem. Spending time in Paris is an opportunity to see new places, I become a tourist every time I step into the French capital. For today's post I have compiled my 15 favorite places in Paris which also happen to be some of the most instagrammable spots every tourist and even some locals visit to snap the perfect frame.

1. The View from the Top of the Arc de Triomphe

If I had to pinpoint my favorite view of the city I would say this comes to one of the top 3. Contrary to going up the Eiffel Tower, The Arc de Triomphe usually has a shorter line, (might be since it has no elevator). The cool thing about this view is you get a 360º view of Paris and all it's monuments.

2. Champs Élysées

With it's hustle and bustle of traffic and fair deal of tourists, this is probably one of the busiest places in Paris. Though it still holds a certain magic, my favorite--the beginning and end of this grand avenue. On one end you have The Arc de Triomphe in all its glory, on the other stands Place de la Concorde, both classy touches to Parisian streets. Champs Élysées also transforms into some sort of Winter Wonderland when the holidays come around and lights are installed on every tree that lines the street and a Christmas market is set up, making it a great place for a stroll on a winter evening.

3. Paris in the Spring

...is beautiful. There are precious corners with cherry blossoms that make you happy and add a gorgeous pop of color to the city of love. The best time to find these full bloom is in April and this particular spot by Notre Dame was full bloom and picture perfect.

4. Sacré Cœur

I'm not going to lie, this isn't one of my favorite places if visiting midday and even worst on the weekend, simply because it's overwhelmingly crowded. But on a tranquil morning/evening Montmartre and Sacré Cœur have a charm unlike anything in Paris. Be sure to check out the Artists plaza and grab a crepe as you stroll this neighborhood and enjoy views of the city.

5. Trocadero

This is by far my favorite view of the Eiffel Tower, it makes you feel in awe and as if it's all set up for a grandiose view. Here showing you how it's both magical in the daytime and night, specially at every turn of the hour at night when they do a 5 minute sparkling light show on the Eiffel Tower. Just be sure to keep an eye out, because like every tourist area in Paris this is one of the big ones for pickpockets and street vendors.

6. Château de Versailles

I mean...how would a palace not make it into one of the most instagrammable places. A mere 30 minute train, on the outskirts of Paris is this stunning palace and the former home of the monarchs. A stroll through its perfectly groomed gardens filled with fountains, flowers and ponds, that will provide endless picture opportunities. A must-visit on anyone's first trip to Paris.

7. Notre Dame

As one of the most famous and biggest Cathedrals in the world, stands Notre Dame, also known to many from the Disney classic; "The Hunchback of Notre Dame." This Cathedral is one of the finest examples of French gothic architecture. Don't miss out on climbing the tower to enjoy a fantastic view of the Seine and all the landmarks, it may be 387 steps, but it's definitely worth it.

8. The Louvre

This world renowned museum is a beauty both inside and out. Dating back to the 12th century when it was originally built as a fortress, The Louvre was later converted into the Louvre Palace, residence of the monarchy, and later occupied by the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles Lettres for 100 years. Finally, during the French Revolution, the National Assembly decided to transform this magnificent building into a museum to display national masterpieces.

Today, the louvre holds more than 38,000 objects from prehistoric times up to the 21st century. Known as one of the most visited museums in the world, and the home of the Mona Lisa, this honorary museum is a true landmark. 9. Jardin du Luxembourg

Probably considered one of my favorite places in Paris, these quaint gardens and its palace are home to the French Senate, but public access is allowed on the gardens for locals and tourists alike. I love strolling along or sitting by the fountain and breathing in the tranquility within the gardens. Additionally, it is beautiful year-round thanks to its meticulous landscaping.

10. Opera

It is pretty difficult to find a building in Paris that isn't stunningly beautiful, the Opéra Garnier, or Palais Garnier, is no exception. A classic that seems to have remained intact for the past 100 years. With a central location in the 9th arrondissement, it is easy to come across this beauty while strolling the city, specially if you're interested in shopping the galleries right behind it on Boulevard Haussmann. Today, there are two Operas in Paris, and Opéra Garnier still hosts concerts, opera but mostly ballet seasons, giving tourists a great opportunity to see the inside of the Opera and enjoy a local show.

11. Palais Royal

Though the name suggests this was a royal palace, the Palais Royal was originally the home to Cardinal Richelieu. Years later it was converted into a royal palace and today it is known to many locals as the shop-lined courtyard where one can escape the hustle and bustle of the city. Filled with small boutiques and cozy cafes, this courtyard is a nice place to go unwind while still being in the city-center.

12. Le Marais

Hands down my favorite quartier, or neighborhood in Paris, le Marais brings together a modern and classic feel to the city. Filled with boutiques, brand-name stores, restaurants and lovely cafes, this picturesque neighborhood is the perfect Instagram spot. Practically every corner is picture perfect, and you will see a mix of locals and tourists strolling and enjoying their afternoons or weekends here.

13. Tuileries

Another beautiful park, Tuileries is just between the Louvre Museum and Place de la Concorde. Right in the heart of Paris, Tuileries is a lovely park for the perfect weekend stroll or picnic. It tends to be pretty packed because of its unbeatable location, but nothing beats the beautiful blooms and fountains.

14. Pont des Arts

Previously known to tourists as the love lock bridge, the Pont des Arts has been sadly stripped of all the locks from couples around the world. Still, the pont has been recently remodeled and today it continues to provide a cool spot for Instagram pics with the Louvre on one end and Institut de France on the other.

15. Tour Eiffel

Last but not least, our beloved Eiffel Tower. There is probably no need to convince you that is is the ultimate spot for an amazing Instagram picture. The beloved and renowned landmark that represents the city of love. There are thousands of spots where you can catch a glimpse of the tour and get the insta worthy moment. Don't forget to also savor the moment while you're there.

Ultimately, it's hard to narrow it down to only 15 spots that are the most "instagrammable" in Paris, after all we are talking about one of the most wonderful cities in the world. The whole city is a beauty filled with secrets and hidden spots waiting to be found. In the end, it is about truly getting lost in the city of lights and finding your favorite spots.
