El Columpio

Today we decided to go try this renowned restaurant in Madrid. El Columpio (the swing), is a quaint, cozy and lovely restaurant in the Chamberi neighborhood.

Due to its popularity reservations are often needed, but if you can find a moment for lunch this is your must go.

It is decorated with colorful pieces, elements of design and takes advantage of the abundant natural light to make it a spacious and pleasant feel.

The food is not only reasonably priced, but also we adored the bread and butter that comes in this rather creative bucket straight to your table. There is everything from spanish classics, to mexican treats and italian touches, something for everyone. Similarly, they're known for their pastries and sweets to be enjoyed after a tranquil lunch.

I personally had the arroz meloso with melted cheese and asparagus, a Spanish version of risotto with a very rich flavor.

Overall, between the deco, the location and the good food we found this to definitely be a top on the list of restaurants to try out in Madrid. Check it out here.
